The gospel is not prosperity friends.
Neither is it success or wealth.
It is not healing, and it is not prophesy.
The gospel is not self-righteousness. Neither is it societal morals.
It is not a power demonstration affair. And it is not deliverance.
The gospel is Christ. Simple. It is in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This is the gospel.
When we say this, that doesn’t mean the gospel does not want the people to prosper, or that it does not want us to be healed in life or to be rich or to be righteous.
No. It simply means that it is only in Christ that we can truly attain rest in life.
The gospel is Christ and in Christ lies our prosperity.
In Christ lies our healing.
In Christ lies our righteousness.
In Christ lies our deliverance.
In Christ lies our power.
In Christ lies our wealth.
In Christ lies our favour and mercy.
In Christ lies our blessing.
And in Christ lies our strength and all the good things of life.
The truth is there is prosperity in Christ.
There is healing in Christ
There is power in Christ.
There is deliverance in Christ.
There is prosperity in Christ.
And there is righteousness in Christ.
When you understand the gospel from this perspective, you will come to understand that our true rest only lies in Christ.
When you understand this, You will be able to understand what christ truly did for us on the cross.
When you understand this, you will understand how to teach everything from the scripture from the perspective of Christ alone which brings the true rest to the heart of the people.
When you understand the gospel from this perspective, you will have no reason to fear anything in this life. The reason is that you will understand what Jesus meant when he said Itt is finished on the cross.”
The gospel is salvation for all. And Christ is that salvation. And in that salvation lies every good thing of life.
So preaching Christ is preaching the gospel. Because in him alone lies our rest.
So it is said come unto me all ye that labour and are heavenly laden for I will give you rest. Mathew 11:28
