You dont claim to believe in jesus; his power, his authority and his position by mere saying i believe, without an action to showing what you believe.
you need to prove your believe with some level of understanding of what you are believing in, in total dependent on him in time of trouble.
This was the case of the centurion man who has to prove of what he has heard about jesus being the king of kings. To him who ever is a king that has not lost his position only need to command for his subjects to obey him. are we sure many of us has not treat jesus as a king who has lost his position by our level of believe?
The centurion in his calculattion in total believe of the power and authority of jesus as a king, all he needed to do was to just speak the word like every other kings do and the subject must be made to obey word of the king or be made to face the law.
So the centurion; man a stranger in the land, knowing and believing in the person of jesus as the king of all kings both in heaven and on earth, understood it will be an insult calling jesus; the king of all kings to come unto his house; a mere servant to deliver also his servant from a mere demon. isn’t this what many of us do taken jesus to be a mere servant, taken his presence for granted not to talk more of his word?
So the centurion said ‘just say the word master and let the security forces of the spirit also make do with his word as spoken and the situation will be taking care of.’
Now look at that. You will surely know that it was from a deep level of his understanding of who jesus truly is from his rating and of what he is supposed to be doing as a king who rule over the whole universe.
That but for him; a man operating from the common earthly authority if all he does is to just speak the word and the situation is taken care of at once, the same and even more must be unto jesus his kings he has come to believe and accept. So he said just speak the word master his servant will be well.
This was what also made jesus to rate his faith as the highest level of faith just as he has rated jesus as the true king of kings.
To we all today calling jesus our kings of king. how much have we actually rated jesus the one we all called the king of all kings?
do we believe he is truly who the bible said he is to see the manifestation of his power in our life? just like the centurion who said just say the word, by totally believing on who jesus is?
Jesus knowing the level of faith of this man, said to him let it be according to your faith. which in other word would means ‘since you already have this deep understanding of who i am and what i can do, and are said to believe in what you have known of me, now you have my word just as you have know and believe of me.
This is why i will always say that faith is dependent on the knowledge of the person we are basing our faith in.
Do we know that our level of knowledge of who God truly is, is what really determine the level and the dimensions to which the power of God can be made manifest in our life?
this is so because it is as far as we can see that we can get.
The question we must all ask ourselve is how much of God do we know to make his power much available in our life?
