A very prominent preacher in this country said it is not good to be poor. He said that to be poor is to be close to wickedness. He also said that the poorest man he ever read of in the bible which is Lazarus, was made to be at Abraham Bosom. That is at Abraham residence.
He believe when the bible said Abraham Bosom it means Abraham residence.
He said that the reason the poor man; Lazarus was made to live by Abraham Bosom was because he was poor. He could not afford his own.
He said how come the poor man wasn’t giving his own Bosom or residence that he was taken to Abraham Bosom ?
He said why wasn’t he giving his own Bosom meaning his own residence.
The truth is when you do not understand the true reality of the scriptures you will teach heresy to the people and be thinking that you are the one teaching the right thing. and the people on the other hand will be thinking to be listening to the right gosple.
What such a preacher doesn’t seems to understand is that by such evil analysis, he has made God to look wicked for not giving Lazarus his own residence.
You know this idea is still springing from the mind of those preachers who believe that in heaven there are mansion awaiting for them to come dwell in.
If you must know, Lazarus wasn’t at Abraham Bosom because he was poor niether does Abraham Bosom means Abraham residence or house or mansion.
According to that book of_luke 16:19-22
Bosom in greek there means Abraham place or bay.
It was also used in the book of John 1:18 were it said no man at any time has seen God, but the only begotten son who is in the Bosom of the father had declared him.
The same word was also use in the the book of john 13:23 when it said now there was leaning on jesus’ bosom one of the disciples whom jesus love.”
So bosom there never means residence or mansion.
Lazarus was made to be in Abraham Bosom in that story because Abraham is the father of faith as a result of his commitment to the faith journey with God. Being that he was the first among the fathers of the old testament patriots whom God started the journey of faith and of covenant of salvation with. By this submission he is called the father of faith. As such the bible will say, Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him as righteousness.
So he was the model of faith to all the old testament faith patriots. He also preach the model of the gosple of salvation that was to come in christ with his son Isaac when he will offer his only begotten son Isaac unto God as sacrifice which symbolises the salvation plan of God even when he hadn’t seen the salvation of the lord.
So all the old testament patriots, including Lazarus in the story will have to recon with Abraham, before christ came. But After the ressurrection of Christ jesus, who is the true reality of our faith journey, they will all be identify in Christ including Abraham.
It is why God will speak to the children of isreal when he sends moses to go deliver them from Egypt and moses asked that “if they asked me who sent me who shall I tell them, and God said to him that “tell them that The God of your father Abraham, Isaac and Jacob sent you.
This was the place of confirmation of Abraham fatherhood of the faith journey along side his son and grandson Jacob in the old testament before the open revealing and the coming of Christ.
Abraham was the model of the faith of God in Christ in the old testament to the people. He was a symbol of the beacon of father to son relationship of God salvation plan in the scripture. It why many will say Abraham blessings are theirs even when we are already directly connected with the true father through our lord Jesus Christ.
As such for the old testament patriot to be save, they must also be identified in Abraham through Christ. Just as the new creation believer will be save in their believe and belief in Christ..
It is why when jesus enter into the synagogue in the book of Luke 13:10-17 to teach, the bible said their was a woman who was bending to walk for 18 years. And the bible said jesus heal her on the Sabbath day. And the rulers of the synagogue began to speak with indignation that why was jesus healing on the Sabbath day and
the bible, it is said in verse 16 that Jesus asked them saying “o ye hypocrite, dot not any of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or ass to go drink water or to go feed on the Sabbath day, ” then the part b or that verse said, ought not this woman being the daughter of Abraham whom satan has kept bound this eighteen years be loose from the infirmity on the Sabbath day?
And the bible said she was heald.
Now from this bible passage, we could see how the woman was also link to Abraham even though she might not even know Abraham as a person. the reason is because Abraham to the Jews or Israelite, is their father of faith. It is why they never liked Jesus telling them before Abraham was IAM.
