IN ALL OF KING SOLOMON’S WISDOM, HE WASN’T AS WISE AS YOU AND ME AFTER All.

I

Often we have been made to believe that King Solomon in the Bible is the wisest king that ever lived.

The truth is that the same Bible said “The queen of the south shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of King Solomon; and behold a greater one than king Solomon is here._ the Matthew 12:42

You may want to ask, who is he that is greater than King Solomon even in all his wisdom?

Is it Abraham, Jacob, mosses, Elijah or is it John the Baptist?

Truly who is it that is greater than King Solomon?

If it is none of those people mentioned, who is it then?

Jesus’ wisdom is greater than that of King Solomon in all of his displays of wisdom.

King Solomon’s wisdom can never be compared or measured to that of Jesus.

You might want to ask how come no one came for Jesus’ wisdom like great kings and queens all over the world came for King Solomon’s wisdom.

The truth is, in King Solomon’s days, the whole earth was filled with total darkness. When I say total darkness, I mean lack of knowledge.

It is the same reason Hosea will tell us that “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge’__Hosea 4:6.

This statement can never be more said of our days and time like in the days of King Solomon.

In these days and times, knowledge has spread abroad through various means that weren’t available in King Solomon’s time and even in Jesus’ time. And this knowledge came through the light of God’s word in Christ Jesus.

Moreover, Jesus wasn’t after any earthly demonstration of wisdom for men to bring him an earthly wealth of money and glory when he own everything in the whole universe. Instead, he was after the souls of men. He came for the harvest of the dying souls of men including that of King Solomon who many believed to be the wisest king that ever lived.

He came to save the world including King Solomon even in his wisdom whom many would think to be the greatest and were ready to give all their life savings and body for, that couldn’t save him.

Although Solomon was given wisdom from God to rule over his people, he wasn’t told to go marry many wives or to go acquiring all kinds of material wealth when there was no true satisfaction in them.

This was the foolishness of King Solomon in display and not wisdom.

That wasn’t the wisdom of God, It was the worldly nature of greed and dissatisfaction that multiplied in King Solomon that makes him go seeking all that.

In the display of King Solomon’s wisdom was the mixture of human nature added to the true wisdom he originally receive from God that made it look foolish in the end.

In the end, he will say everything is vanity upon vanity. Eccl 2:11.

We can only understand this when we understand that King Solomon was only observing the universal occurrences he never seems to understand, while when Jesus came, he came to conclude the universe and its cosmos.

And this same Christ dwelling in us believers today through the holy spirit is the greatest wisdom of God there’s in the whole of the universe.

This is what King Solomon never had.

It is what he longed to have all his days on earth that made him marry 300 wives and 700 concubines. And as well acquiring all kinds of material wealth thinking he could find satisfaction in all of those things.

That is why I will say that we as a believer today, are greater and wiser than kings Solomon even in all his wisdom.

It is the reason you and I can never go marrying more than one wife, talk more of marrying three hundred wives and keeping about seven hundred concubines.

It is the reason you and I can not go gathering all kinds of material wealth just to show that we are the richest men and women in the world when many people are there without food to eat daily.

This to me is the highest level of foolishness on display before God.

It is the reason as a believer, we will never strive just for the glory of all kinds of material wealth that do not last beyond this world and that does not satisfy.

It is called the search for the right thing in the wrong places; true satisfaction in the earthly riches in the world.

This was what King Solomon was searching for all his life; the true satisfaction in life, that he never find in all he did.

King Solomon was never satisfied with what he had. There was a thirst he needed to quench that his wisdom couldn’t quench as he keep on searching for satisfaction in everything in the world that he never finds.

In the end, he called all of them vanity upon vanity.

Till he died he still didn’t find that satisfaction.

Till he leaves this world he still didn’t know what and who that satisfaction is.

That satisfaction is Jesus. He is the bread of life that when you eat, you will hunger no more_John 6:35

He is the water of life that when you drink of, you will thirst no more.

He is the true love of God when you find him like the Samaritan woman, you will need no other love.

This was the case of the Samaritan woman in the book of John 4 who was seeking for true love after living with five men who were not her husband in search of true love and satisfaction.

When she met Jesus Christ by the well, she left her pot of water and ran into the city to tell others about her encounter with Jesus.

This was what King Solomon longed to see that he couldn’t see in all his life quest on Earth. And this made him go marrying over 300 wives and seven hundred concubines and acquire all kinds of material things just to see if he will find true satisfaction in them.

The same thing the samaritan woman was also looking for. But she was lucky she found it in her days and time. And when she does nothing else matters to her…

The Bible said in all of Solomon’s glory he was not as an array(beautiful) as the Lilly of the field. The reason is that the little Lilly of the field is satisfied with the beauty that comes from its inner glory.

Whereas King Solomon’s glory on the other hand was outwards, it came from his life struggles that fades with time.

Whereas ours, on the other hand, our glory is just like that of the little Lilly of the field and even more.

As a believer, you are wiser than King Solomon when you understand what you have got inside of you.

You are greater than King Solomon when you can see the satisfaction that Kings Solomon couldn’t see and long to see.

You are greater than King Solomon when you don’t go marrying 300 wives in search of satisfaction that is not in women or men.

Instead, you would rather remain with just one wife or one husband, and without concubine, because you know that true satisfaction in life is not in earthly pleasure or riches but in Christ.

As a believer, we are wiser than kings Solomon, because we are not so driven and shouldn’t be driven by material things of this world that do not satisfy.

The reason is that we know better that true satisfaction is not in the acquisition of those earthly wealth But in Christ.

So as a believer, we are not driven by the glory of men in this world, Instead, we strive to be crowned with the glory that is above.

This is who we are. We are the last wisest men of God on earth.

We are not driven by the earthly riches of this world because we know that there is no true satisfaction in them.

As you have the latest of those material things, there will always be the desire for more.

So as a believer, never take King Solomon’s wisdom to be your standard in life.

For we are wiser than King Solomon in this world.

So in all of King Solomon’s wisdom, he wasn’t as wise as you and I after all.

Christ is all the wisdom of God there’s in life. When you have Christ in you, you have all the wisdom of God in the whole universe.

As a believer, your standard of wisdom at display should be guided by Christ’s wisdom and not by King Solomon’s wisdom or any of the old testament patriots.
