The Bible said Jesus came not to do away with the law including every feast of the Old Testament that pertained to him that was later included into the law. Instead, he came to fulfil them all.
The reason he would say he didn’t come to do away with them is because they came to announce him to the world. But with his arrival comes the fulfilment of what those laws or those practices were designed to fulfil but couldn’t fulfil.
One of the laws or the feast he came to fulfil is the feast of the Passover; which we all called the holy communion at the end, even though it was never mentioned as holy communion in the Bible.
So when he says I will no longer eat or drink of the wine and the bread with them again until the meaning of the feast is fulfilled in the kingdom of God, He was referring to himself going to the cross and rising from the grave which will usher in the kingdom of God into this world where the true meaning of the Passover and the last supper or the holy communion ritual, will be made known in the kingdom that end the continuation of the rituals.
So his death, burial and resurrection are the fulfilment of all the feast of Passover that was referred to as the Holy Communion or the Last Supper. So his place of resurrection is the place where the meaning of the feast was accomplished, made known and fulfilled in the kingdom of God and to the world.
When he said do this in remembrance of me till I come, he was speaking of them continuing with the practice till he rose from the grave and came back to them to still partake in it with them, which he did when he rose from the grave.
He was speaking of till he returned from where he would go and fulfil the meaning of the ritual of the Passover or the holy communion that was being practised by the Jewish people before he was even born into this world which is on the cross.
His rising from the grave to life settles that statement of do it in remembrance of me till I come and that should also end the ritual of the Passover feast or the holy communion not to continue with it.
The reason is that it was a practice that communicated the salvation of humanity through christ Jesus. And its true meaning needed to be fulfilled in the kingdom ( even in this world) to end the ritual just like every other Old Testament law, and every other act of the Old Testament that came to an end when the real thing was revealed, like the anointing oil, anointing water, and the rest.
As we all know, Jesus’ fulfilment of the law ends the continued keeping of the law. So should the holy communion be.
It is why we will boldly say we are no longer under the law but that we are now under grace.
Meanwhile, he has fulfilled the law and every shadow practice of the Old Testament that was brought forth to the New Testament for its true meaning to be fulfilled.
If you understand this, then you will understand the reason we said the holy communion is done away with and never to be continued with.
