I have seen the rate at which people mix the righteousness by faith with their pursuit of righteousness by works.
What this people don’t seems to understand is that you can never be made righteous by the works of the law. If it was possible there wouldn’t have being any need for Jesus to come die for the sins of the world.
If it was possible to be save through the works of the law, the children of Israel would have continue in the sacrifices of the blood of the animals according to the book of Leviticus 1. But they couldn’t continue in the blood of animals to keep them clean forever because the blood of the ram and bull could only cover their sin for a certain period of time. And this is where the righteousness by faith (by believing) that takes the sin of the world forever has to come So that we can be save forever.
The thing with the righteousness by faith is that it give everlasting righteousness as along as we continue in the walk of faith. When you look at the early men of faith who has walk with God, you will come to discover that their righteousness was imputed to them by continues believing in God. This is the same thing we have being call to do today. To believe in the finish work of Jesus on the cross to the very end to be save forever.
This is what should be preached in our various churches and not the mixture of the grace message and the law that can bring the people into a state of confusion, to begin to think themselves to be unsaved whenever they are not able to meet up with the demands of the law.
When you look at the account of the early men of faith who had walk with God, you will come to discover that their righteousness was not as a result of their good work but as a result of their believing and staying on to the course that they were called into by God.
The bible said Noah believe God to build an arch it was accounted unto him as righteousness-Hebrews 1:7
Abraham believe God to walk with God and it was accounted unto him as righteousness, not minding their mistake and errors-Hebrews 11:8
The same thing was with King David a man after Gods own heart. Not minding his mistakes and errors yet he was called a man after God own heart. Because he was after the course he was called into. To rule over the people of God as design by God.
So also is the righteousness of believers by faith today. The believers in Christ today are more save than the days of the law. Where they only have the blood of animals to cover their sin for a short period of time. The believers of the finish work of Christ are no more condemn by their mistakes today rather they are justify by God; through the finish work of Jesus on the cross and not by their self-work so preaching salvation by works unto the people is like going back to the days of the law.
Today when you believe in the finish work of Jesus you are justify forever not minding your errors and mistakes as you continues in the walk of faith. But many believe when you believe and fall for sin your salvation is gone. This is not so true. Just like the early men of faith, whose righteousness was not imputed to them by their self-works, so also is the righteousness of faith of today’s believers. It is not dependent on their self-works. Rather it is dependent on their faith in God through the finish work of Jesus.
The truth is sin has being taken care of on the cross. That is why the Bible will say as many that believe are save. And those that do not believe are condemn already-john 3:18 They are condemn not minding of their works, whether good or bad. So also when you believe you are save despite your short comings.
In other word purpose salvation is made through believing and we must keep to the believe that brought us into salvation in the first place. The day we stop believing that is the day our salvation will also stop. Not that God will withdraw our salvation we receive freely from him from us, but that we would have walk out on the salvation umbrella by ourselves. Or that we weren’t even save in the first place.
Sin though has it own indirect effect on our salvation. The problem with sin now is that if you are not careful sin can sometime abort our journey of faith with God. Sin can make us to begin to doubt our formal believe in God that can make us to lose our salvation we freely receive through believing.
For that is why it is said that “now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.”-hebrew10:38
A man that continues in sin is a man whose nature has not being change yet. When you receive Jesus into your life, your nature becomes change from the nature of sin to the very nature of God. Though we are in this world but we are not of the world. The things of this world will no longer be the things of our most desire. Because our focus is now driven by the very purpose of God for humanity.
I call you the reform
